It's the first Friday of the last month of the year, and traditionally, that means it's time for bonfires! Every year, people gather around the city's largest lake to celebrate the end of one season and the beginning of another, lighting fires all along the shoreline. It's common for people to migrate from one fire to another, mingling with strangers and friends alike, and any booze you bring is fair game for anybody, so make sure you bring enough to share! Whether you park a wheelbarrow by your fire, or somehow figure out how to wheel in an entire bathtub full of ice — anything goes! Those who still possess working boomboxes ( or even those still in possession of a functioning ipod and some speakers ) bring them along for a little extra fun, and those that are brave ( or drunk ) enough aren't afraid to take a dip in the lake despite the dropping temperature. There are no limits! Have fun, be safe, and here's to another year on Raeth! |
